FX35 Ipod Interface

I read when I was researching this mod that it was an apple issue why no charger was created for this interface. Trying to find the link now. In fact one of the companies offering this mod said to ask Apple. Im sure their are different people doing this, but that is what I read with this one offeror.

I did not specify what Ipod I had so they sent me the wrong cable. They are going to send me the correct cable now that is supposed to charge it also.

Will keep you guys posted. So far it works really good.

Technically its not an apple issue. They just changed the charge mechanism for the 4th Gen Nano, Iphone 3g and 2nd Gen Ipod touch. Still looks the same but uses a different charge on the inside.

Dang........I'm not technologically inclined compared to you guys, I'm using the tape deck to connect my mp3 player.......

Hahahaha.....same here...it seemed like a good option, for $6.00. Sound quality is obviously not the best, but again, for $6.00, it'll do until I get the real thing...

The sound with that is terrible! Get the interface asap...a real difference you will notice.

+1 on that. I have not used the regular radio since I got the install. Just the Ipod. It's worth the $130.00

Just waiting on the correct cable. That was my bad.

Yes....I must. Those interfaces are also good for regular MP3 players right? And how much do you guys think it'll cost to install the interface and having it wired through to the inside of the armrest?

I guess this is a good mod to perform to my FX .. Just another mod to the growing list.!

Would the ID Scroll and functions work on our OEM Bose stereo for a regular mp3 player hooked up through that SAT thing?

Just those regular mp3 players like Coby or Rio. Those won't work right? So far, I can't find anything on ebay that is available for non iPods mp3 players. gaaan.

Take it to a local audio shop they can install a interface for the oem audio system that you can connect and play any number of mp3 players.

So does the cable you got charge the nano? My wife has a nano, and I have the 2nd gen touch so I need to know if it works. Also, on the Ebay ad, it says it comes with a 11 foot cable. I assume this is case you don't have the sat hook up under the shifter? I have the same FX as you do and want to know if this works good or not. Thanks

I installed mine a few weeks ago, turned out nice. I took a bunch of pics too but haven't loaded them yet. Need to.

Definately wait for the load when you first turn it on. After you turn the key on, wait for approx 3 minutes before touching anything. Also, make sure you install the radio back in with atleast the grounding screw attached in the mid left screw hole. I made the mistake incase I needed to change a setting on the dip switches and didn't reinstall the radio so it wasn't grounded and had nothing.

I installed this unit today and I'm having trouble. It plays for 4 or 5 seconds then goes out. If I hit volume it cuts out or sometimes just on it's own. I've noticed that if I hit the scan button the music will begin to play again, but I've yet to finish a song.

Any ideas???
