FX35 INTRODUCTION

Hi friends!
Just bought this 2008 FX35 from a friend. Would like to make some upgrades. It currently has a check engine light(P420), airbag light, and tire sensor light. Runs fairly good. I am retired and can do as much as I can. Please be patient if I keep asking for help.Thanks

Hi. My 05 FX45 had the same codes when I bought it three weeks ago. I connected my Autel MD808 scanner and cleared the codes, none came back except for the P0430, #2 cat under-efficient. Still fighting that one with CRC catalyst cleaner in the tank. It takes a good while to scour away the carbon buildup from the cat's guts.

I strongly recommend replacing your battery ground cable. The terminal is stamped pot metal that can break from corrosion and age, plus corrosion creeps into the wire ends because they're not sealed which can reduce current.

I built my own cable and added a new terminal from Fastronix. Good stuff.

Installed a brass positive terminal today, marine-style. I replaced the wing nut with a regular nut. Works great and will last forever unlike the factory piece of garbage.

Factory garbage. Over time it will corrode and break.
