Hello,

I just signed up hoping someone could lead me in the right direction. I just bought a 04 FX35 AWD Wednesday and already had to get it towed home last night. Driving home on I-75 last night all of a sudden it started driving funny like I had a flat tire. I pulled over to a gas station with the right rear wheel smoking. Got it towed home and when I tried pulling it into my garage the right rear wheel will not turn now, only turns when it's in neutral.

Anyone ever had this issue before or know what it is?

Thanks,
Brad

Can you tell where it was smoking from? I would've guess wheel bearing but if it'll turn in neutral, that's not it. Does the other wheel behave the same?

sounds like your caliper/pads are seized onto your rotor and also sometimes the parking break gets stuck and that might be it also

All the other wheel are turning fine. I couldn't tell where the smoke was coming from. I was driving back from Toledo Oh, to Dayton Oh so could it have been brakes or parking brake?

Can you spin the right rear wheels by hand with both rear wheels jack up off the ground? How does the tire look on the problem wheel?

I haven't been able to get it jacked up as it's been raining and snowing here. The tire looks fine. So if I can spin the wheel what does that mean?

If you can spin the wheel with booth rear wheels off the ground, your rear axle is intact. I highly doubt its the caliper since it moves in neutral.
