FX35 Aftermarket Exhaust Roll Call

Ege, do have experiance with HKS and heard the sound of it...?! As i'm more of the low torque guy.
What is your opinion with my engine setup...??

You told me about the dual system, but with this mod i just want to buy a bolt on system i think.
The guys from HKS aren't stupid you'd think....why would they keep the stock size diameter then....?! Just to change the sound with no HP gain...?!

I'm pretty sure that it has good gains. On that post, I meant using a 3.0" system vs a 2.5" system with aftermarket mufflers in both shouldn't make a significant difference on the top end. I honestly don't think the 35 engine (45 is another story) would fill a 3.0" pipe setup completely.

What I believe is that, from Y-pipe back there's not that many (and significant) restrictions except the oem mufflers. Replace the mufflers, though, you'll have a change in sound. IMO, HKS Legamax is as close as you could get to the oem in an aftermarket system. INFX35 has it and if I remember correctly, it makes a change in sound tone (not deepness, it's definitely deeper) after 4000 rpms. I think it'd complete your system pretty good. Just don't change your cats with test pipes.

Also, it's a 2.5" single system so you shouldn't feel any torque loss in the low range. Contact INFX35 for more details..

One more point: My gf says even with my APS setup, the FX sound is not completely gone. It definitely stays in normal driving but not when you start or when you go WOT.

Thanks again for the info ege...!!

I'm getting more and more to my decision. Any idea where i can get the HKS system at a good price...??

Thanks bro :top:

Oh . . I guess answered here. What's with all the multi thread questions, ray?

Dutch excitement I guess.. Remember Austin Powers Goldmember?:biggrin:

note: Ray, just kidding, you know it right?

NISMO FTW W/O resonator

I have 350z exhaust tips (still!) ... I agree with these guys, I've heard a lot of other exhaust on youtube but all I gotta say is .. NISMO be the best .. .. I also heard turbocad6's Stillen and it sounds pretty decent as well, its just a lot more money.

How Much does the NISMO run? Also does anybody here have the NISMO FTW without the resonator or has anybody heard the NISMO w/out the resonator? What does FTW mean? Thanx
apologize for the question blitz. Havent found answers through search. thanx again.
RACER-X:iS:

FTW = For The Win  Nothing to do with Nismo technically.. Nismo without the middle resonator would be too loud IMO. It's at a very good sweet spot between loud and nice right now. Without the resonator it might drone

There's a local Z guy who was going to sell his Nismo but ended up cutting out the resonator. Kinda pissed me off.

Btw, sorry for jacking this thread, I saw a guy selling Nismo Exhaust, with Y-pipe and Test pipe. What is the Test pipe for? Is that the mid pipe?

That replaces the catalytic converters. Gives a good amount of power BUT it's always hard to handle the extra noise and drone the test pipes gives out. Plus you might have emission issues. IMO, stay away from test pipes.

edit: also, his y-pipe won't fit your FX (AWD)

Thanks for the info EG3. :.smile:

So it seems that most G35 exhausts will fit a RWD FX35, but the tips need to be extended a little. Is that true?

Not sure if all of them need to have the tips extended. But for the nismo (which is pretty popular) needs to have g35 extenstion + tips extended

all of them needs to be extended if they're not already extended by the previous owner (for used). The g35 and 350z bumpers are shorter than FX. That's the reason for the need.

if you buy an exhaust from a G35, you'll only need to extend the tips....

if you buy an exhaust from a 350z, you'll need to extend the midpipe(i.e. g35 extender) AND the tips.
