FX35 2010 - Paint Quality ?

Alright, so I've had my car for less than a month, and I swear there must be already 10 or more scratches ranging from 1" to 3" on various panels. I've had more scratches in 1 month than I had in 4 years on my Murano

So what is it, is the paint quality really crappy that basically any contact makes a scratch ? Or are people just jealous of the car ? I park in far far corners of shopping malls , never park it on the street, basically take good care of the car so I am baffled.

Does 2010 still use the self healin gpaint ? I am sure that was just a useless marketting gimmick but I am curious nevertheless.
:err:

No the 2010 models don't have self healing paint. Only the 2009 have it. And the 2011 models will be getting it again.

It's not that the paint is soft, it's just all cars get scratches. There is nothing you can do. I also hope you wash your car by hand! Don't take it through car washes. And when you wash your car you should use the two bucket method which is one suds bucket and one rinse bucket to prevent scratching the paint. And use high quality wash mitts too.

Oh and don't let the dealer wash it either. Their true fuck ups when it comes to washing cars.

+1 for questionable infiniti paint.

my family has both soft/darker colored vehicles by other makes. Those are much harder to scratch/swirl. Yes silver is great at hiding imperfections but on a extremely dark grey vehicle, which has only been through machine/dealer washes, why does it look perfect compared to the fx?
