FX35 2000 lbs towing vs FX50 3500 lbs towing

The FX50 has the larger V8, with more horsepower and torque, along with larger brakes, are these the only reasons that the FX50 has an additional 1500 lbs of towing capacity? Has anyone towed more than 2000 lbs with their late model FX35? If so, how high did you go and feel safe?
 
I read somewhere someone towed about 3500lbs uhaul trailer with an fx35. He had bags installed on the rears and had them inflated to accommodate the added squat. but I think you are correct with the 50 having the v8 vs. the v6. but I think the real problem with the added weight will be the rear suspension. I was at a dealer today and they told me the difference was in the transmissions of the FX35 and FX50. From what I can see on the Infiniti website they have the same transmission.
 
My guess would be the 50 has different gear ratios, plus the added torque adds 1000lbs more than the 35
