FX vs. G35

I currently own a 2006 G35 sedan. I believe that one of the models of FX's has the same engine as the 06 G35. I've searched posts and read up on many of the threads listed here but haven't been able to find the answer I'm looking for. I've already done engine mods (MD spacer, z-tube, JWT intake) to my G35 and would like to get the g/f an SUV and would love to be able to mod the same engine. Can anyone tell me which year and model FX has the same engine as my G35? Thanks!
 
I know it's really confusing, but the G35 and FX35 have the same engine. Now it changes for the G in 2007 and the FX in 2009 when they get the VQ35HR.
 
So if I get an FX35 2008 or older, I'll be dealing with the same engine as my current '06 G35? Probably not but might as well ask, no difference in engine with the AWD vs non-AWD?
 
As long as it's VQ35DE in the G, all is good. I'm pretty sure 2007 brought the redesign.

That's correct, 2003-08 FX35 has the same engine as your G35. No difference btw AWD and RWD models. Oodles of aftermarket parts available.
