Fx GT-R!

+1 Ken

i think it'll be nice to see something of that nature.. a fusion of GTR performance on a FX..

Well that $600K includes NEW everything from the engine and even the gtr dash and all that's why its so expensive. If I were to do a FX-R I would do it that way as well, GO BIG OR GO HOME! :p

I think there are a few people on here who can testify to the high cost of custom engine setups. . . and the numerous surprises along the way.

This would justify the comment from the other forum that members of iS are a bunch of kids who purchase an old FX for 10k and drop 30k on bolt ons. LOL

I've only read some of those posts. There is a lot of pioneering passion is so many custom builds.
But if you want "kids fun", how about put a FX engine in a wrecked GT-R? Kind of a poor man/ rich man syndrome. It might vv e fun if your just throwing money at it for the fun aspect.
Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of clones though.

. . . says the guy with the spare engine now searching for a salvage gtr. :smile (2):

(Maybe that's what that weird chrome one is all about! Have you heard it run? Maybe its a Sentra)

And good call. I'm empty and off the the fridge for a frosty refill.

I've heard it. Sounds like a damn war plane INSIDE my house.

Cheers!

the GTR running gear is way more than just a GTR engine, the GTR is a front engine rear trans axle design. the clutch and transmission are in the rear of the car with the rear dif. you would need a whole donor car to use the GTR running gear in an FX. you'd probably have to graft much of the GTR rear floor structure into the shell of the FX to support the rear GTR subframe and extend the 2 driveshafts because of the longer wheelbase. once you're going that far then you may as well also graft the aprons from the front unibody structure of the GTR in too so you can also use the front GTR subframe and GTR suspension and brakes... you could revalve the struts and increase the spring rate to compensate for the extra 600 pounds or so... could def be done but would wind up def costing more than just buying a GTR, that's for sure. the labor alone would probably reach 30K or more and that's on top of the cost of the FX and the donor salvaged GTR to begin with. I'd love to have the budget to build that :)
