I should have gone for BBB but I forgot about that. My case was even worst. I bought the car brand new and have all services done at the dealership. My car has problem since day one. I had the struct bearing noise and the seat cracking noises within the first 3 months and the dealership even gave me attitude when I complained about the problems. The DTRL socket problem twice and a tranny fluid leak caused by the bad radiator. The car wasn't drivable. The dealership even refused to check the tranny if the tranny was damaged. Then starter problems and engine oil leak. And then axle problems, bubble driver seat, seat cracking noises and muffler hanger failure 1 week after the 4 year standard warranties just passed. All these shit were taken care poorly by the dealership in lower mainland. I learned my lesson. I will never buy any Infiniti which is the first batch of the new model line. Basically, I felt my car was the lab rat for the mechanics at the dealership to be familiar with the FX before the TSB came up.
Just my count, I personally spent close to 9K just to fixed the FX up since I have owned it. My car never has any serious damaged from any car accidents. Mostly just paint job and some small body work.
I had a small oil leak in one of the front the spark plug. I went to the dealership under the powertrain warranty. All I got from them was, "it is normal. The computer did not throw out any error codes. If it does during the warranty, then we will do something about it."
Now basically, I am just waiting my engine to miss fire and get a new engine out of my pocket, since I am already out of the warranty.
I would strongly recommend to take any means to get your issue propagated, so the infiniti will take your case seriously.
My dad's friend who bought an new Mercedez S500 few years back when the car came up and he kept having problems within the first 6 month of purchase. He simply just dropped the car at the dealership front door and tell the dealer to contact their headquarter to buy the car back and he left the car there and told the dealership in front of every other customer he's not going to drive that piece of shit.
He wrote about 20 ish emails to the Mercedez headquarter and eventually the headquarter bought the car back.
So any effort to get the Nissan headquarters's attention is worthy IMO.
So man, not too be too frustrated. You are still in better shape then I am.
