FX confused for other makes?

I recently had someone ask me if I got a new car. When I told him it was the same car he said "oh, I thought you had a Lexus"
 
At least they thought you had an upscale SUV. The Lexus RX is nice but I always consider it a chick's ride The FX is sooo much sportier looking and performs better IMHO
 
am very careful with my car and always park in the same parking spot ...my co workers always say thats the lexus parking spot ..i never correct them ...

Well I feel a little better now cause I finished the week with a woman asking if the owner of the black Porsche can move his car.....went out on the high note :smile (2):
 
If they like your car and don't know it's an Infiniti, why let them think otherwise?

Any nissan/infiniti enthusiast know that the murano is built on the altima platform and the FX is built on the 350Z/370Z platform. and yes both are tuned differently. I owned the murano it was a much softer ride. the cvt trans was garbage. the fx is a sport SUV, it is meant to handle like a 350/370. regardless both designs have been copied by other manufacturers.
 
i was told by a nissan sales man today why i wont consider a murano instead of the FX50 (which they sold last night) In his words "The two are very similiar" I didnt ask any further questions.

If they seriously think their actually similar, I'd walk away from the dealership really fast lol.

Just look what happens when other auto makers try to copy the FX design. The result, a design failure. Just ask the designers of the Acura MDX and the BMW X6. Both more looks closer to the Pointiac Aztek! :smile (2):

but anyway, I don't really get confused between brands, however between models within the same brand.... so for example, I sometimes can't tell apart between the Murano and the Rouge.
 
there is nothing similar about the FX50 and the murano. First of all the FX50 has an V8 and the murano a V6. The murano drives like a sedan and the FX50 drives lik a sports car. this salesman knows nothing about what he is selling.

Im sure they know what they are talking about, but since they dont have what he wants they try sell what they have hoping he doesnt know the difference.
