Hi all im a new member from today.

Just imported a 2007 fx 35 from the usa into uk and then onto me in spain need a bit

of help.

In drive on an incline the car will roll back is this correct.

Going from park into drive its a bit stiff almost hard if on an incline

When the foot parking brake is applied if in neutral the car will roll back an inch then bite. (This prob relates to the above statement)

Apart from these.........WHAT A MOTOR

Regards and thanks in advance jim

welcome to :iS:

here's an advise when parking on a hill:
Ebrake first, then park, this eliminates the parking pawl engaging anything. That is the best thing to do. It's still there if the e-brake fails but with the brake engaged it's holding no weight of the car.

Stop car...foot on brake... engage parking brake... foot off brake... shift to park.

If you do that then there will be no thump at all, it will go into, and come out of, park very easily.

and yes, when you're on a hill (going up) and you don't give it some gas... the FX will roll back

i like it when it does that... or when its a small incline... i do it so people think i have a manual thus people will see my car... = ) i kno im an attention whore

Welcome to the Scene! and yes do what trainerKen has suggested to eliminate that nasty lag roll.

+1, I always will place the car in N, set the ebrake, let it do the holding, then place it in park. Like Ken said this way the brake is holding the car and not the P gear. It makes it so much easier to put it into D from P without giving you the feeling like your wrecking it.

Hola! Bienvenido al board!

Make sure to use your parking brake on those inclines.... Parking without it is hard on the transmission.
