Anybody use a fumoto valve? http://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=24

I am about to order 2 for each of my cars. It would make changing the oil a bit easier.

Yup..

N-Type Valve

The Engine Oil Drain Valve is also available with "Nipple" to accept hose to allow draining of the engine oil out of tight spots. It makes oil changing easy for industrial engines, boat engines and other hard-to-reach applications.

I have the regular fumoto valve in my fx for over a year now and I'm happy with it makes changing oil easier. one time I overfilled the engine with oil and all I have to do is open the valve and theres no mess.

Cool, thanks for the info. I was slightly worried about it popping open, but according to all the reviews I have read it has never happened. Should make changing the oil a bit quicker:top:

funny you talk about overfilling the oil because that is exactly why I am looking into the valve..

just read this on their site
The Engine Oil Drain Valve has been tested and granted "Genuine Parts" status by 5 major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan, including Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Isuzu. These approvals were not granted easily and gaining them was a testimony to the quality and durability of Engine Oil Drain Valve.

In the United States, the Engine Oil Drain Valve is being installed at the factory level on some of the vehicles made by Ford and Freightliner.

I'd used one for a number of years, but eventually gave up because it was geniunely slow to drain the oil. Not that I was in a huge rush, but it was earnestly taking 10 minutes to get the oil drained.

Otherwise, solid product, probably saved a hell of a lot of oil pans from winding up cross threaded or over-torqued.

I think I'd like it if it had a cap or plug on out side of valve as well.I have worked on all kinds of equipment with drain valves and have always had a plug or cap after the valve to protect against valve failure and or oil loss.
