Howdy y'all
After reading conflicting reports on the web, I just wanted to know if someone brings over his car to Texas DFW area if it is mandatory by law to have a front license plate or not?
If you do, I'd rather avoid drilling ugly holes what are the best alternatives?

Thanks

Thanks it is a 2012

Thanks...
I was there on vacation 2 weeks ago and you see some with some without as stated in the article it is unclear. I will see next year once there I guess when registering the vehicle and figure it out...I was just hoping to get Infiniti's drivers advice and real answer living in DFW Dallas/Fort Worth area

I live in Fort Worth and there is a law requiring a front license plate. There are a few rebels out there that live on the edge and go without. I think it just depends on the mood of the officer and the temp. Probably wont get pulled over just for the plate missing today...101 degrees out there! Kind of like the window tint rule. You can limo tint your front door windows until your next vehicle inspection(every 12 months). I believe the legal tint is 25% light transmission.

it's required..You will get pulled over for it if the police are bored or looking for a reason to pull someone over. I've been pulled over many times for it. I even tried pulling the plate on the dash by the front windshield and still got pulled over.

I am being relocated along with a promotion next summer with my company at their HQ located in Arlington.
We are Canadians coming in under the L1 dual intent visa, meaning we can apply for a green card after one year.

Cultural shock it was for sure, it was brutally hot but they said it gets hotter LOL and it is not that bad compared to Houston with humidity levels through the roof!

Everything is truly bigger in Texas hey? I was shocked to see so many Trucks literally all over the place no civics, Golfs...but rather Denali, Escalades and Taho XL!!! Gosh even our FX is considered a "cute" little SUV :)

You have drive long distances to get anywhere and everywhere you want to go. It was like a bunch of residential "islands"with small malls I will be missing walking downtown grabbing an ice cream, window shopping, eat at a bistro lol we live in the suburbs on the island of Montreal but with a car a 10 min commute gets you literally anywhere the city it is just so much smaller than Texas lol

People in Texas are extremely welcoming friendly and respectful... the opposite of people from the North like Boston and NY

We visited Dallas downtown, Dallas zoo, North Park, Reunion tower, Fort Worth and Stockyard was amazing!!!

Wifey was really scared in Arlington especially since we have a 7 years old daughter it is NOT a place we can see ourselves living in sorry very commercial, industrial and college kids... Nothing to do really just flat and boring

We visited however Grapevine, Euless, Bedford Arlington, Colleyville And finally decided the place where we shall live in Keller (new development hilltop heritage) close to hwy35...Keller offers amazing schools ISD and we really liked Southlake which is way out of our price point LOL

This will be her car I will have a company car
Registration it is and I would not mind having to drill front screws so be it big deal!
It is a 2012 with 16,000 miles in MINT condition I fully detailed it this summer and protected with ceramic coating

Thank you all

Best of luck down here! Depending on where you will be working and driving to, Keller is a great area, $$outhlake is even nicer...

Work is actually at the top north of Arlington very close to AT&T stadium and almost a couple of traffic lights from Hwy30 :)

The law has been back and forth and last that was stated, you do not have to have a front plate. I've never ran a front plate. been stopped 3 times and warned about it but they wont write you a petty ticket over it. that 3 times was back in 2008. been driving since 2003 so I've really had no issues NOT running a front plate. theres way too many cars here for them to worry about that. They just want to catch speeders

I live in TX. I've seen luxury cars, even exotic avoiding to place permanent plates on their front bumper places their front plate by the passenger side dash. Not the greatest in my opinion.

As far as enforcement, it is a hit and miss. Some of my friends walks away with a warning citation but some got tickets. You are more likely to get pulled when driving in service roads, roads with lower speed limits than the freeways. The freeway cops are more after speedsters.

If you get a ticket, it's a $20 dismissal fee. Just provide a picture of the plate on your front to the clerk when you go to pay the dismissal fee.
