Front center console cup holder

Is there supposed to be a rubber insert/tray for the bottom of the cup holder? Mine is just bare plastic surface and anything that I put on it, it will slide all over at every turn.

If not, what have you guys done to prevent the sliding?

I don't believe so... I've never seen one. My M35 has one and it makes a big difference. I have seen friends with other model cars take some of those sticky rubber dash pads for cell phones, etc and cut them to fit their cup holders.

Are you talking about this?
If you are, it is supposed to come with the car unless you bought it used and the previous owner decided to be a douche and take it.
I bought my car used so it didn't come with it. I also questioned about it when my iced coffees kept tipping over when I make turns. I found out the only way to get this piece is either the junkyard which is impossible to find or buy them from the parts department from Infiniti. But you cannot buy the piece by itself, you would need to buy the entire console which costs $300+. It is ridiculous!! I went into the dealership one day to get my TPMS synced up, so I decided to go to the car showroom and sat inside a brand new QX70 where I secretly and carefully took this piece. I'd have to say sorry for the person who purchased that particular QX70

Yes, that's exactly it. I cannot believe you can't buy that separate. You were sneaky to take that with you that doesn't even fit in the pants pocket. :rotfl:

I was wearing a hoody so I had it in the hoody pocket. To make the bulge less obvious, I had both my hands in the pocket. =)

Mine didn't come with it either since I bought mine used but I asked the sales rep that sold me the vehicle to snag me one and he did. Cups fit much better with it installed.

Well after a couple days of searching on ebay, I ran into a listing that was selling parts off of a wrecked FX35. I asked the seller if he had the cup holder insert, but he only wanted to sell the cup holder with it. He wanted $70 for it so I bought it. Still much better than paying the $200+ dealer price.

the spring in my cup holder insert broke last week... Found the replacement part at Infinitipartsusa for only $44.33. "Holder Assy Cup" PN 68431-1CA0A

Was at my local Infiniti dealership yesterday for an oil change, asked about buying the insert from them.. They told me they couldn't sell it separately, and that if I wanted a new one, I'd need to buy the entire console kit (@ $1000+)..

Sweet!!! I wouldn't normally condone such anarchy in the Vail, but in this instance I totally feel you 'mon.

What I did was buy a used shifter panel on eBay that had the cup holder included and then just sell the shifter panel on eBay for the same price, so I pretty much got the cup holder for free [emoji3]. There's actually a shifter plate on eBay right now with the cup holder included if anyone wants to do the same thing.
