Freaking break in...

Title says all.
My fx was broken into last night.
Can't beileve im living on campus and it happened to me.
Window wasn't broken, but both windows were rolled down and the key hole was poked and damaged, i can't even open the door from outside. Nothing was stolen except some change.
I just wanna find who did it.
When i do find them, i won't hand them to the police..
just gonna do my way, if you know what i mean.
Out of curiosity, is FX particularly vulnerable to that type of break in?
I remember one of my buddies who used to have fx had his car stolen, and i think the mode of entry was the same. What happen to the alarm? is there a way to bypass?

lool my car was recently broken into
factory alarm
door trigger only so if they smash your window for a smash and grab the alarm wont go off but if they unlock the door from inside and open it from out then it will go off so ionno bro i hate factory alarm thats why i went upgrade to the VIPER which cost me alot

EDIT: here is the link of the thread Got my car broken into - InfinitiScene.com

Sucks man....sorry to hear

Are the escutcheon covers of the key hole still there? Weak point of the fx are these covers......you'll notice this person replaced his key hole with the rear covers there-by having no more keyhole.

cant you report to campus security?
and afterwards school will repay you?
because looks like there is some dmg done to the door little ding from a flat head from what it looks like
cause my friend had all his art supplies stolen from her car at school where the school dorm was at and all her windows were broken into and stereo was stolen 5000 dollars of art supplies were stolen and all got replaced by the school
so was wondering does your school do that?
if so get to it =]

I don't think my school will ever pay me for getting my car broken in.
Ill just have to get it covered with insuarance.
300 deductible, but theres nothingelse i can do.
Whichever that school is, they seem to be treating their students pretty well.

damn that sucks bro!! theres so many jerk offs out there trying to jack shit its ridiculous

I know..they prolly expected to find more from the car, eventually all they got was couple of dollars from the ashtray. shitty..

Terrible news, my car was broken into when I was in college..celica. I was just thinking about getting an alarm that reacts to the sound of breaking glass after Dopie's incident, but now it sounds like we have bigger issues.

Getting even wont help. Yeah, I understand how you feel about getting your car broken into but two negatives won't make a positive (I'm sure you learned that in math class). If it's one thing I know about car theft is, no matter how hard you try no one will fess they broke into yours unless they want you to start something.
Take it for what it's worth.

Sorry to hear about your car and all, but every car has it's weak point. For the FX its the driver side door with out the cover. Besides, if someone wants to steal your car, they will if they know how.

Once again sorry about your ride.

Aw man there's paint damage :tears:

Feel sorry for ya, I've never had a car of mine broken into *crosses fingers, knocks on wood, whatever superstition I'm missing*

I did do the escutcheon (still don't know where that word came from) and feel a little more secure. I'm adding to the factory alarm... will end up costing me $50 I believe?

There's a way to make the factory alarm include shock sensors, so that bumping, kicking, attempting to break in will signal the factory alarm to sound. It involves adding shock sensors to the fenders on the inside and wire them to the hood alarm. The hood alarm works like the door alarms, in that if the hood shouldn't be opening (ie the car is off and doors are locked) and the hood is opened, it signals the alarm.

The shock sensors simulate the hood being opened when a significant bump hits the car (adjustable sensitivity).

The sensors add on for the alarm sound like a great idea. *1

eyy for me when i got broken into my insurance company said it was act of vandalism.
did yours say that to?
cause if they didnt your insurance rate will go up and yea
but luckly you only paid 300 i had to pay 500 deductible =[

wonder if there is an way to disable the window down feature on the keyhole?

because even with the escutcheon mod, they can still pry it off or poke thru it to get to the key hole.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

I think Frankiago's idea of connecting the sensors to the OEM alarm is great. The only reason that i didn't want to have aftermarket alarm was because of the wierd looking remote. i'll prolly get it fixed when my exams are all over, and will have to ask the bodyshop about the sensors and everything.

As for the vandalism, its pretty common issue here (not particularly in Van, but in Surrey). ICBC will take care of it without shooting up by insuarance rate.
Its just that i thought the place i live is one of the safest place in Vancouver.
Although most of students are careless in the way they open the door no matter how close another car is next to, i really didn't expect for the break in.
well...i guess i gotta deal with it.
