Did you cut the top coil or the bottom coil? I cut about a bit more than 1/4 coil off the bottom and it doesn't want to stay in the perch. Got it all installed and it popped out before I could get the wheel on and put weight on it.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. anyone selling one or two front Eibach spring??

i dont know for sure but i think youre supposed to cut the top as the bottom is flat so it seats correctly in the cup

you can only cut a coil spring on the continuous loop side, in otherwords the spring ends at one of the spirals but doesn't curve or flatten of change shape at all from the coils before it, just like it went on & on & then was cut at some point, that's the end to cut..., the other side is a formed end, if you cut that off the spring is garbage

that's why a rear fx spring really shouldn't be cut, both ends are formed, although one is slight & a few have done it, that increases the chance of breaking a spring or having spring seat issues...

The bottom looked flat and continuous, but when I cut a little over 1/4 coil, there wasn't enough to keep it in the perch when there wasn't the full weight of the car on it. I got it to stay by putting hose clamps on the bottom to keep it in place till I let the car down. I ended up cutting a 1/4 coil off the top of the right spring since it was out and that went in without a problem. I think cutting the top was the way to go eventhough it is more tapered then the bottom. I 1/4 coil of bottom spring is alot more than 1/4 of the top spring. It seems to be tighter circle and allows more to stay on the perch after being cut. I could of gone a 1/2 with no issues, but was nervous. I will try to get another spring or a new set and do it right. I am not going to leave the spring with the hose clamps installed. I feel it still need a tiny bit more of a drop, so I might do a total 1/2 coil on both when I get the new set. The back springs are fine. Didn't touch them. Thanks for everyone's' input.

Also, for anyone planning on installing front springs, pay mind to the OUT label on the upper metal black spring retainer. It needs to point out towards the wheel. It can install wrong without making noise, so it is easy to overlook. I got it this time....

I was able to order just one front spring through Summit. $95 with shipping. Not as expensive as I thought it would be...
