Fog lights in auto?

Bought a new G37s 5 months ago and traded it for a new M little over a month ago. The G auto headlights would turn on the fog automatically. On the M it seems the auto only works with the main headlights and if i try to turn the fogs on the lights are on all the time, overriding the auto function

Is this normal in all Ms, and if so what is the reason?

You would need something like this http://kptechnologies.com/products.php#/12, even though it states in the compatibility only a few cars..... many have used it on most Nissan's and Infiniti's. You can also ask here on kp's forum http://kptechnologies.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=30&sid=76ba42f92bbc0cac097c45a8d794125d
Controlling
This could be done with $20 or less and 1hr of your time. I PM'd Ilya the info and he should be doing a write up with pics soon.

You need to run a wire from the fog switch to eng. bay and wire up the fogs to a new relay, done.

This will allow you to controll the fog light with the fog switch with out the headlights or parking lights.

Correct...once the weather is in the 70's every day...I will find the time to tackle this and document the process, etc.

I need to do this as well as I'd like to have my fogs on independent of the low beams. 06M45, will this work on any car?
Yes this will work on any car.

This is done because of the on board relay system (computer) the M45 runs on.

On older cars they use regular relays which is much easier to do with out going to the fog light switch. It's all done at the relay.
