Hello all, I have a sad story to tell, and hope you can perhaps offer some guidance. After months of searching for an FX50, I found a babied, one owner rig with 51,000 miles. I bought the car and prepared to head north towards Wisconsin, visiting friends and family in Knoxville, Chicago, and Madison along the way. 40 miles after my purchase, I had a car pull out in front of me in a 55 mph zone. Had I not removed my eyes from the road for a split second, I could have gotten on the brakes and avoided incident. As it was, when i saw the blue hair in the car i had to swerve to prevent certain collision. I ran over a curb with my front right tire at about 40mph and deployed the drivers side airbag. The only visible damage is a slightly larger gap on the right side of the hood.
I brought it to the Infiniti dealership it came from and was serviced at it's whole life. Looking at the repair estimate, I think the parts and work can be done more reasonably priced. Apparently they saw no frame damage, but a slew of parts are needed. I would like to prevent totalling the FX out as it too nice of a ride to see that happen to. I'd also like to source parts or have the work performed elswhere to reduce repair cost and dodge total loss.
The car is in Clearwater FL, any of you find fellas have a recommended mechanic to inspect and or repair my FX? Also, any tips as to dealing with insurance would be much appreciated. Here is the parts rundown provided by the dealership.
