Flat / Semi-Gloss Paint (Who will be the first?)

$900 sounds very cheap, didn't even know you could get this done that inexpensively...

I'm sure that the bodyshop would tell you the same, but if you are going to wrap a new paintjob you shouldn't do it imedately, the fresh paint needs to cure fully, & to cure fully it needs to breath... you shouldn't even wax a new paintjob for about the first 3-4 weeks let alone wrapping it... I'd wait at least 4 weeks even in a nice warm climate...

I was actually thinking about doing it 6 months after the new paint job..

Damn, $900 must be a hookup. Considering how much it cost just to do a clear bra for the front only.

A hook up indeed... I use to work with the General Manager back in 2001 with I worked for Metro Media Technologies...

The company was into builboard advertising and we specialized in one piece vinyl ads...

Sweeet!!! Yo Humberto does that company have a branch in the east coast??? !! Hook it up bro!!!

Hey Alan... 9000 it's pretty high for a wrap... Maybe a really expensive paint? Lol JK

When I looked into this about 6 months ago, you could get a Roll of 60" by 50 yards flat black vinyl for $600. 10 yards was about $300. I assume you could wrap at least 3 cars with 50 yards.

However, the labor is what kills it. $900 is unheard of. Where do I sign up?

I wonder how hard is it to do it as a DIY. I'm sure we can get a group rate on the vinyl.
I know you'd have to clay the car and make sure there are no bumps. Also, you'd have to apply some adhesive in the convex areas. Also, you'd have to remove some parts in order to reach under and behind some areas. The problem with any vinyl is that it will shrink just a bit, and if you don't wrap it around, or under something, it will bubble or peel. So things like door handles, roof racks and moldings have to come off. Also, our hoods are too wide for a single peace, so there will be seam in somewhere. Unless you do a racing strip.

I would have done attempted this by now if my garage was available.
Group rate?!?!

I'll put in a call to the guy and see what he can do for us.

I'll keep you guys posted...... yet to be hones it will have to be done when I get it done...

I don't want to get him in trouble and have the owner see a bunch of FX's every other day getting it done...

i have a 1969 mustang fastback that i painted matte black about 2 years ago. im very happy with the paint. i heard of a couple people paying thousands to just sticker the whole car let alone paint, i paid $1,300

They did the window trim too? I wonder how long that would last...mine look like crap! and I dont have money right now to paint them.
