Yeah, I was a bit disappointed with the B-Quite Extreme product comparing it to the Dynamat Extreme. I would recommend Dynamat Extreme over the B-Quiet. Given that the Dynamat is 3x more price wise, but I think it something that you do it once and forget it definitely worth the extra $.

So should I double layer it?

Maybe that might help more?

Thanks man. By the way how much of the b quiet did you use?

Do you think my 50sq ft roll is enough to double layer all 4 doors and some under the rear seat?

I used up 100 sq ft on the roof and floor (front and rear seat). I think 50 sq ft should be enough for double up. 50 sq ft roll weight in at 19lb!

I think my standards where just too damn high. I was expecting it to be quiet like a Lexus LS, lol. I'm sure a lot of other factors contribute to the sound and insulation that we can't control. Like he was riding on 30 series tires and I'm sure the thickness of the glass plays a factor into the sound too.

B-Quiet Extreme is 30% thinner than Dynamat Xtreme. B-Quiet Ultimate is more comparable to Dynamat Xtreme. Just using either brand won't be enough to insulate from road noise. You'll notice that music plays a little better since the doors are damped some and it will be slightly quieter. But if you're looking to get rid of road noise, you'd have to go all in and install the foam products they sell, insulate your wheel wells, hood, firewall, etc. And you'd still have road noise coming in from the glass. I used to be sponsored by Dynamat and will say that their stuff does work, it just doesn't work as well as most people think it will. None of the products do, can't violate the laws of physics.

Thanks for the clarification shadow! I figured there was more tiers to B Quiet you can purchase. This will definitely help my decision now, whichever route I take soon. :good:

Well I can say I've been through hell doing this today. I completed both back rear doors and under the back seat. Took be about 7 hours to do. Definately alot harder to apply it than it looks. Would of took longer but I'm pretty familiar with taking interiors apart so it made it easier lol. After finishing both doors I was exhausted but I decided to start under the rear seat too. In the middle of doing that I almost passed out from dehydration. I had to come inside and lay down for a good 2 hours because of vomiting and overheating. I forgot to bring water outside with me and never took a break. I was so into it I forgot how fast time was flying so it didn't cross my mind lol. I did it and it's about 95 degrees outside today. Would of done it in the garage but I can't see too well in there.

Anyways here are the pictures as promised. Just to let you guys know everything was applied in two layers of the deadening for added noise reduction

Did a little vacuuming under the seat before starting to make sure the surface was clean. Then proceeded with an alcohol wipe down:

Installed (Yes I applied it over the factory sound deadening):

Sound deadening installed on the right door:

Sound deadening installed on the left door:

Vapor barrier installed back on:

All in all everything is straight forward. Only issue is that installing it is time consuming. One issue I did run into though that really pissed me off was the damn plastic vapor barrier lining. Putting it back on is easy but taking it off is sort of frustrating. When your removing it the tar they used to seal around it to make it stick on is damn messy as hell. If you don't remove it slowly it gets EVERYWHERE and is hard to remove if you get it on something.

Haven't got a chance to drive around and see how it is yet but the sound system sounds great in the rear. The doors feel slightly heavier and solid. But that nice luxury thunk from the door locks is still the same. Guess Infiniti engineered this car really well already. Couldn't really tell a big difference in the sound of the door closing. It already sounded pretty solid even without the sound deadening I added. Again like suggested by Andy I added two layers of this stuff all over everything.

I'm so tired I'll wait to do the front doors on Monday next week. lol

By the way I want to thank Soonster, Andy, AeroBFA, and everyone else that gave me tips and advice. Appreciate it guys! :smile (2):

Wow...I just did a single layer and my front door is crazy heavy. Although technically it's two layers since i did the door skin and the xbrace. The whole car actually rocks even after a gentle closing of the door.

Nicely done so far Aaron. Take it easy and rest yourself. The vomiting is not good. :bulgy-eyes:

Thanks everyone!

@ Aiya, thanks man! I did the door skin too and added two layer on it so I guess it's like 4 layers I did? Lol

I just went out on a test drive.

First thoughts:

Interior is crazy quiet that even I noticed a difference. But now I can hear some slight road noise up front. Most likely cause I haven't l done the front doors yet. It's actually getting so quiet inside that my ears feel like their popping from the pressure in the cabin.

One downside I noticed to this though is now I can't hear my exhaust inside. I did did put a lot under the floor under the rear seat. I guess this is why Infiniti doesn't fully seal it off because they want you to hear the exhaust inside. It's their trademark.

Ill report back once I do the front doors.

Yeah I read it that's why I didn't try and get everywhere on the part of the door you see. I just cut up small pieces.

Only reason I actually doubled though cause the b quiet stuff is kind of thin compared to dynamat. I followed Andy's idea:tongue:
