Fire0nic3FX's 2006 Infiniti G35 Sedan Picture Thread

^ It is easier to mod a car when you don't worry as much about the consequences. For me, the FX is the car I experiment with. Parts are cheap so if I mess up, it's not a huge deal. I'm terrified of breaking something on the BMW, it's not worth any more than the FX, but parts are so much more so I tiptoe around it. Nothing compares to back in the day when I was younger and dumber though. I would think nothing about taking a holesaw to the car for turbo piping (still don't know if I took out anything structural) or taking apart the entire car without a manual and just sort of a vague idea of how it went back together.

I'm still curious as to why you don't just save up your money to do something GREAT to the FX instead of doing little things to the G. Like you could have gotten a nice set of wheels, or coilovers, or something.... Beater should stay the beater...

besides that, looks pretty clean.

I can see why he'd mod the G. Sometimes it's fun just to mod something and you get a lot more bang for the buck with the G. It's fun to notice the little differences in mods and it's a progression. With the FX, it can be frustrating since there's not much you can do. I just think it's weird that he considers the G a beater and an FX the weekend car. To me, they're in the same ballpark. Upkeep/ownership cost are roughly the same. I always pictured something like a Porsche/Lambo/Ferrari/etc as a weekend car. Just about anything else could and should be driven every day.

I just consider the FX a weekend car because its newer than the G and a better cruiser. The G rides very harsh and noisy. Sporty and fun yeah but the FX is quieter and smoother than the G which makes it a nice car to take out on the weekends and drive around.

wheels I wouldn't mind getting for the FX. But there really isn't anything else. Coils or lowering springs are nice but not so nice when they eat through your tires every 10K-15K miles because of the lack of a camber kit. Other than that there isn't much aftermarket support for the FX.

And another thing is that I go to class 3-4 days a week and the parking is terrible at the college I go to so you have to take whatever space you get. With the G I can park it anywhere and not care about scratches or dings from other cars. Where as the FX I would constantly worry about where its parked. And this reason right here is why I actually bought the G.

To tell you the truth I want to get another car this year but also keep the FX and G. When I mean another car I mean a brand new one straight off the lot. The new Q50 looks promising so I'm going to the NY auto show this coming week to take a peek at it. But we'll see....

So you have the FX, this G, and are going to lease/buy a new one? Why not keep the G, and get rid of the FX and get a new FX? Or is the lease not up/another fam member uses it? I mean it's your money and everything but with three cars and going to class and living at home...maybe move out? haha I would save up your money man.

JB, when did you become the voice of reason? :p

What ever do you mean? ;)

I am saving my money lol

I said I might but we shall see. I don't want any car payments at the moment anyways. Maybe later on....

I would just stick with what you've got and save up unless you really have money like that to have three cars while being in school 4 days a week and living at home. Invest!

Here's a few pictures of doing some test fitting of my Luce Produkt LED orb rings on my G37-R projector shrouds. As you can see on the right I'm also doing a bi xenon morimoto D2S retrofit.

The LED rings are 5000K pure white. It's the same ones OnEighty uses.

Thanks. I'm pretty much almost finished at this point. The headlight painting was finished a while back I just need to mount these projectors up and paint the shrouds gunmetal and wire up the LED's.

Oh man, angel eyes...... haha.

At least they are quality. Why not have 180 do full custom headlights if you're using the same stuff anyway? Are you saving that much?

For a similar job Oneighty would charge around $1000

The LED orbs were $50 and the other stuff like the projector lens and supplies were $180.
