Fire0nic3FX's 2006 Infiniti G35 Sedan Picture Thread

My brother drives an '06 6MT G Sedan. It's a great car, drives very similar to a 1st gen FX (about the same noise level, etc.) Good luck on the retrofit; I saw a few sedans on G35driver with those and it looks like a pretty easy/straightforward install.

Sorry or the late reply. Here is a pic I took today:

Did a full service on it myself today:

Mobil 1 extended performance oil change
Drain and refill differentials with valvoline 80w 90
drain and refill transfer case with Nissan matic D
cleaned throttle body
Replaced spark plugs

ran into a dilemma now. I cleaned the throttle body and now the idle is all over the place and I treated the butterfly valve when opening it as if it was thin glass. I even disconnected the battery. The car won't accept idle relearn at all!! I'm so pissed I have to take it to the dealer to let then do it with the computer.

Here is a pic from the other day cleaning the throttle body. It was filthy!

Had to go to the dealer to get the throttle and idle reset. The relearn procedure I was doing would work then once I turn it off it would forget it all over again. Never touching the butterfly valve again! lol

They has to use the Consult to get it to work.

How much did they charge for the relearn procedure?

Didnt charge me anything because my dad is friends with the master mechanic over there and I know the manager. Only way they got the idle to go back was with Consult. The car wouldnt accept a relearn with the pedal procedure. They also did some other things for free for me. By the way this was at the Nissan dealer. I was going to take it to Infiniti but I can't drive it too far right now because I'm on a spare waiting for my new tires to come.

I got to say the look on this is timeless. I wasn't always crazy about G's but they drive and look nice!

It's begging for tint and a black obsidian grille :3

I wish there was something you could do with those headlights....not a fan of them, but I like the rest.

Looks like not just the TB are dirty! man that's a dirty engine compartment! Did you clean it yet?

Yup I have some plans for the headlights. I don't really like them either.

Engine bay has never been cleaned at all and yes the splash pan is there lol.

Ive heard the same. I just don't play with headlight housings anymore. I attempted to some foglight projectors on a older maxima. I had to cut up the housing to install long mounting bolts. I just lost interested and at the same time lost a set of fog lights for that car. I dont fabricate much.

This was about 5-6 years ago, before stuff like that morimoto projectors came out and s2k/tsx/TL projectors were going for $250 a pair. Whole new world now.

These morimoto projectors have a threaded mounting shaft so it fits right through the previous existing hole on the back of the G35 or any reflector headlight. Basically no cutting needed. I assume the hardest part will be removing the headlight and lens but that should be pretty much straight forward.

One thing I like is that I can use this car to experiment with things on I've always wanted to do like this projector retrofit.

^ I thought you were looking into getting a 1st gen FX?

The G will stay in the family. My brother has his eyes on it. The FX is on the backburners until then plus gives me a good chance to pay cash for it. Its a lot easier to buy a car when you don't have a car.
