Hello Fellows,
Was browsing Injen website and came across Press Release page and what I see:
Cold Air Intake for FX37 (not G37)
Is there any more info about it? What your thoughts?

Here is a pic with all the specs and installed product:

It's cool that they are finally making intakes now but on the fx there is no gains at all plus it sucks in hot air. In fact you can lose hp with this setup. I recommend doing a cold air setup with the filter behind the grill like I did. I highly doubt that dyno is from an fx.

If I were on south I would do your setup for sure, but here in Canada it's not an option. I'm sure my FX will not survive even half of winter season with "front grill" setup:)

Injen claims +16hp and +15lbs gains, wonder how they achieved such results.

Those gains can't be right, the cold air setup from stillen and takeda behind the grill push out roughly those numbers. Plus they listed the intake and results for a 2011 fx37? Fx37 wasn't even out yet lol which further tells me it's not accurate.

I agree with Rip and speaking from experience, breather mod won't get those gains. Very questionable.

I've actually contacted one of the reps at Injen and he mentioned that this setup is only made for the 3.7L and not the 3.5L . Please see his comment below:

We tried to develop a 3.5L intake kit, and we made no power. We tried 3 different intakes and nothing. WE brought the 3.7L and was able to make great and consistent power. Definitely 2 different engines.

Top Speed Pro 1 did however come up with an intake kit for the 3.5L but it is not a CAI

I purchased it and it arrived early this week. Just haven't had the time to do the install yet.

Andrew, I would not bother with the system you posted, as the others said there are no real gains with that setup.

That's awesome they can make some power for the 3.7 but I still disagree with those gains.

Yeah, Injen's dyno claims are always questionable and I don't think anyone has ever replicated them independently. People have dyno'd Injens at 0 hp gained on G35's. Granted that's a different motor, but Injen made some crazy claim there too I believe. On a modern car that's not boosted, short ram intakes do very, very little. OEM intakes are plenty efficient and not sucking in hot air. Even if the intake is flowing marginally better, the increase in IAT can result in the ECU pulling timing or other things that decrease power.

I personally think that the best intake mod we can do with our FXs is simply switch to less restrictive air filter and still I doubt that it helps a lot:) I was just surprised that I finally saw an intake for FX models and not retrofit from G37 and etc. so wanted to hear from you guys what you think.
