Finally Got My 2012 FX50S UpRev Osiris Tuned

So when I originally contacted Dave at SoCal Performance Racing, Inc ( http://socalperformanceracing.com/ Dave@socalperformanceracing.com David Iwashita 858-431-9272 ) he saw my vehicle on his UpRev - Osiris information that they had the necessary software, etc (please excuse my lack of knowledge on this) to allow him to tune my FX50S. After speaking with Lerry @ ARK Performance, he said that Stillen tried to do this to his AWD FX35 and they couldn't do it with the 35. I informed Dave and we decided to meet and have him dump my drive first before I drove all the way down to his shop in Coronado. We met and he dumped my drive to his laptop in about 5-10 minutes (which apparently he said was incredibly faster than older versions that he's worked with. He send it to UpRev/Osiris and they made a new program for my ROM. We met the next week for the tune. After about an hour, we got it up on the Dyno and ready to test it but we ran in to a problem. His Dyno is only made for FWD/RWD cars/trucks, not AWD. So we came to a cross road...he offered me a discount to do the tune knowing that I would not have the proof of the Dyno as we could not run my car on the Dyno machine since my FX is an AWD. Dave is a pro UpRev tuner and has done many Imports (his partner there does Domestics). So Dave did all of his datalogging on the Silver Strand of Coronado LOL ! He made it clear that's not recommended for unexperienced tuners to datalog while driving on the streets). So he ended up making me 3 maps. 1) Performance 2) Econ 3) Valet. First and foremost, the throttle response was definitely increased. Off the line and while driving. I had this tune done around the first week of December...I am posting this now for 2 reasons. 1) I wanted to have time to really notice what this tune had to offer. 2) I got in a fender bender THE DAY AFTER I got my OEM body kit installed...the body shop underestimated the damage, the holidays, etc...put me out of my FX for a good portion of December ! OK, so the throttle response is VERY noticeable. There are parts of I15 that I would downshift to 5th gear to make it up the hills smoothly...now there is no problem doing so in 7th. Driving up the mountain on my way home, I would always drive up it in 4th...now I can stay in 5th no problem. On the freeways in ECON mode, I'm noticing aprox. 3-5 mpg increase...do the math on a 20 gallon tank ! Also notice much better throttle response even in ECON mode. The Valet Mode for those of you who do not know, limits my car at 2,800 RPM so if I have to leave my car with someone, etc...I know they won't be having too much fun in my car while I'm not around ! I've been doing mods to cars my entire adult life and I must say that I feel stupid for not knowing or ever having had this mod done to any of my past cars ! By far the best bang for my buck of any mod I've EVER done !!! If you have any technical questions about the tune, Dave will be more than happy to help you guys. I highly recommend him...he's a stand up guy ! Oh...also, I am willing to take my car to an AWD Dyno to test the stats (Dave said he would try to work something out with me to get it taken care of) so we can see the actual numbers...we are both very interested. So if there is anyone local that has an AWD Dyno, please reach out !

I had a custom system made last year...I talked with Lerry @ ARK and they don't have one for the FX50S AWD and he told me they don't have the demand for it...

They are willing to do one now, it will be a custom one though, pm Lerry and he will give you the details

This is promising....makes me look more towards the future and possibly a 50 OR a Q whatever it may be =). I had a tuner shop that wanted to tune my 45 on a single roller RWD dyno and the guy was also a top notch tuner. My best guess is that he would have done a fairly good job.

Would love to see your final output specs!

Will do...I was in contact with Lerry a couple months ago...I believe they are about an hour or so north of me...as long as I have another car to drive (this is my every day car) then I'm good to go...

^ Hopefully he can give you a great deal due to the hassle.

do you have a hitch on your FX50S by the way? I have one and I wonder if it would affect the fitment?
