Finally found a cable adapter that works perfectly with the FX (after hours of research and 4 failed purchases). It converts the iPod AUX cable to a standard 3.5mm audio plug, so you can stream audio from ANY source (eg: Android). Audio fidelity is great and the construction of the cable is solid.
Only downside is that the FX detects the cable when it's plugged in and locks the SAT tuner to XM-1 (iPod input). So you can tune to an FM/AM channel or play a CD with it plugged in... but you can't tune to a SAT channel. It's not really an issue though, just unplug the cable and you're back in business. Again, this is perfect for ANY audio input... been lovin my streaming radio and news podcasts in the AM!
EDIT: Guess I can't post a link or picts... so Google search this phrase to link to the product page (cable is about $15):
"Grom Audio iPod input converter to regular MP3 plug"
Note: The iPod input cable is available on 2007-2008 FX35s with the Tech Package and FX45s.
[ And no, I don't work for them... nor did I benefit from this post... just trying to save someone else from HOURS of research ]
Cheers!
