Fading trim TSB

ye im most likly just going to get it painted after ive seen all the issues, and plus i have no more warranty on her anyways and i dont wana dish out $700+ what ever it costs to get a trim done
 
No answer from the dealer on replacing the faded trim as of yet. I got a call late today asking me if they can keep my FX until tomorrow. I was told that a service rep that makes the calls on questionable warranty issues will be in Cerritos tomorrow and it would be better if he can see the fading trim in person than a picture. There also gonna look at the horrible wear of the leather seats.

I was also thinking of painting the trim DG but how good would paint stick to this plastic trim? I don't think it would look bad, it should make the windows look sleeker.
 
just got back from glendale for an oil change. i asked the rep if they still replace trims under warranty and he they stopped. i think it is still worth asking your dealer and maybe ask the service manager directly.
 
I took the FX today again to Metro - to see where the F my lower trim was -
I went there back in December and still havent gotten a call or postcard to let me know they had them.

She remember my visit in December and didnt give me a reason why they havent been ordered. Claimed she was goin to have them 2nd day and get me in sometime next week.

We'll see...........its been almost a year already since they replaced the upper trim
 
just got back from the dealer where the replaced the trim without much trouble. i went once before it was suppose to be replaced but somehow slipped by without it. this time they got it no problem. for reference mine is an 04 and factory warranty runs out in September of this year.
 
I will be back in San Diego in June... hopefully someone else can do this soon. I am tired of looking at my fading trim.:frown:
 
I had my trim painted a while back from the dealership while in Guam and it turned out ok no problems what so ever.
