Experience with nitrous in an FX?

oo ok yea i did do some research and dats about right i was jus wondering if it was gonna had any bad affects on my engine i kno theres some risk involved but jus wanted to know if any actually did it

Read about 350Z/G35 guys that have done it to get an idea since they do it more often. I have a good friend with a Z who has over 100k miles and his engine still is fine, and even puts down more N/A power than most comparable Z's. Not sure how long he's been running nitrous, but he's made a lot of passes, I know that.

Jordan,

I'm looking for something in the Queens area ;) If it is a "budget" installation, I'm willing to travel thou.
by the way - did you ever end up installing N20 to your fx?:)

thanks,
chris

haha na man even thought $700 for a 75 shot is pretty good I know that I will abuse it and screw the motor up...
You do not want a "budget" install on something like this....
No limit motorsport (where I got my dyno done) has a g37s on a 200-ish shot with 440hp..... You can give them a call to inquire about the FX. (thats where I got the $700 quote from) They are on long island

Depending on how much of a shot you want to use you will need to upgrade your internals..

I researched this for my V8 and the negatives far out weighed the pros....

interesting... just called NLM, and was told that it is $640 for the Nitrous +300/400 for installation.

I thought about getting 75-100 shot... Does it still require internals upgrade and dyno tuning:tears:?

thanks,
k.

If your going to be increasing the HP on your baby..

The first thing I would do is to get an Oil Coolant updgarde... Tranny upgrade.... Then work on the internals of your engine...

with that much increase in HP your internals will be trying to cope with allot of additional heat... Heat that can lead to blowing your engine out..

And of course as soon as you get Nos you will need to Dyno it so your baby can handle the new power...

Good luck..

100 and 75 shot, not built.
Check his mod list and sig if needed. http://my350z.com/forum/members/64161-3hree5ive0ero.html

Also, maybe read some threads in that section, too.

interesting, this is actually the hidden cost that nobody mentions... lol;)
it actually comes down to 8k for supercharger or 2k for nitrous&mods
will the good shop recommend the internal's upgrade?:) perhaps these questions sound naive, but I'm new to fx modifications, and I don't want to get ripped of...

StuLax18,

absolutely not ;) While Reading all the posts highlighting the potential issues, I think I'll get some more money and go with supercharger or twin turbo ;(

thanks,
chris
