Exhaust question

Hey everybody. Quick question is it possible to replace the stock muffler with the nismo muffler. If so why don't they sell the parts in indivudal pieces.

Yes, but I believe you have to get the tips extended and possibly get an 350z/g35 to FX extension adapter.

I know the exhaust tips have to be extended, but will the nismo exhaust fit the stock mid pipe with no other modifcation until i can get the mid pipe later, and don't the G35 extension come after the y pipe? I believe it goes y pipe, G35 extension, mid pipe, then muffler?

The Nismo and Stock mufflers do not attach to the mid pipe in the same place so it will not bolt up to the stock mid pipe without modification

jefferson is correct. the nismo midpipe is shorter than the stock midpipe, so they only way to use the nismo muffler is with the nismo mid, or with a modified stock mid.

Besides that, the pipe diameter is a little bigger on the Nismo

does anybody search?just from typing in nismo you would've gotten like 20 hits just on the exhaust...

you can get the nismo exhaust but as everyone said you need both the midpipe and muffler unles you want to modify the midpipe. As for the nismo ypipe, it needs to modified to fit but the stock one will fit just fine with the nismo midpipe and muffler. the tips need to be extended.

if you dont want to buy it new (which is actually a reccomended option if you dont mind the extra bucks) you can usually find the muffler and midpipes available on my350z.com also, you can only buy the exhaust system as a whole from nissan etc.
