Exhaust Mod Help!!

Alright folks, the axle-back sport accessory muffler is installed, and it sounds great! This is exactly the type of sound I was looking for, without being too loud for my taste. It's actually louder than I was expecting when I'm on the throttle, but cruises quiet like stock when I'm not on the gas. Deep/throaty sound kicks in around 1800-2k rpms. Sounds better in person (mic on my smartphone is not the best). Overall I'm very happy with this mod!

Love the sound of it... Can you give me break down of what all you needed outside of the g37 exhaust?

The g37 sport accessory muffler (part #: B0100-1NG26) bolted right up to my 2013 FX37, hangers and everything. The kit even comes with new gaskets. The only modifications I had to do was take it to a muffler shop, chop off the tips, and weld on a piece of pipe (about 3-4 inches) to each opening, then re-weld the tips back on. Extending the tips should cost less than $100.

If anyone is thinking of getting this muffler, and is concerned that it may not being loud enough, I wouldn't worry. I've driven around with this on for a couple of days now, and it's definitely louder than what I was expecting. No drone since it's just an axle-back, clean sound/pitch during acceleration, low/deep growl at lower RPM's. At higher RPM's, I almost feel like the exhaust gets quieter, and you just hear the engine pulling.

This is good to know. I am considering the sport muffler setup or just buying 2 magnaflow mufflers & tips and have a shop weld it up. I'm just leaning towards the sound effect and was thinking the sport muffler might be too tame.

You can definitely set off sensitive car alarms in a parking structure. I had a custom magnaflow set-up on my Audi A4 1.8T. It's been a while since I had that car, but I want to say the loudness was almost comparable, my FX being slightly quieter. People definitely notice that I have an exhaust when I drive by. Way louder than a stock g37s/370z. What I like about this setup is I can creep by quietly if I take it easy on the gas, but I also have the sound that I crave at the stomp of a foot.

I tried to take a video of how it sounds outside of the car, but hanging my smartphone out the window didn't produce great audio (wind noise, traffic, etc). I'll post more videos if I can capture the sound better. It's a lot louder in person than in the videos.

Thanks for the info. Maybe this weekend I will stop by a local shop to price a custom weld for the axle back...explore my options.

the price for the muffler is around 800 dollars brand new. i was looking into getting one used from a junkyard. I dont think the sport accessory muffler came standard on any g37 coupe if i am correct. not even the S model. So the question is should you buy this for around $800 or get a tanabe cat back for around $600. Or a ebay system for around 250 and if i dont like it i can always remove it. ill check the junkyards here in san diego but i dont think i will have any luck stumbling on one of the sport accessory models. currently running the muffler delete on mine, but theres drone under 35mph

The sport and the IPL muffler are internally the same. The cosmetic differences are a polished main muffler body and fully welded tips. That's it. Otherwise it's the same. And I have to agree, its probably the best-sounding muffler where drone is a major concern and one wants to keep cruising noise down. But get on it and it screams (in a good way). Totally controllable via throttle and rpm. I you accelerate at part throttle, it's fairly quiet.

The sport muffler never came as OEM on anything (other than the cosmetically cheaper to make version on IPL model). I believe they're all made by Fujitsubo.

Sounds alot like the Nismo. slightly different tone, but I/m thinking because its not cat back. build looks good too.
& That ebay 250- option upstairs sounds like a horrible idea

I like the idea of looking further into the sport muffler but how does it sound on the FX50?

the sport accessory muffler arrived today. 4.5" tips!

I'll share a video after I install it this weekend.

Hi there, I would like to know if that muffle you purchased will fit my 2014 QX70 and if so, What is the part number and where can I find it. I also checked out your video and I just love the way it sounds man. My stock sound is far from that and even the sound of my previous G.
