Exhaust Manifdolds

Location
Alaska
Hi, my goal is to put a block heater into my FX35. Good news is that it goes into a screw in plug opening in the block. Not so good news is the drivers side exhaust manifold needs to be removed. It looks fairly straight forward but I'm wondering if any of you folks out there have removed the exhaust manifold and also what the torque specs are on the manifold bolts? Any BTDT on exhaust manifold removal ? Thanks, William

Did you check to see if there is allready one installed?

My FX45 came from the factory with one. The plug was tucked behind the licence plate. We are in Toronto, Canada so it may be a Canadian thing.

Just cut it off, you don't need that one anyway. :tongue (2):

Seriously though, the spec is 14.7Nm (1.5 kg-m, 11 ft. lbs.) for the manifold bolts.

Block Heater

Oh yeah, I looked for a hidden block heater. Not easy to be poking around in there with my fingers crossed but no such luck. The vehicle was originally from Washington state. I think the block heaters are only base equipment in Canadian vehicles. By the way thanks for the torque specs, theyll come in handy when I tear into this little project. Wish me luck, William:eek::embarrassed::eek:
