exhaust fumes

recently i noticed that my exhaust had a strange odor to it... not like normal tailpipes.... then someone rode in the trunk with the rear hatch cracked open (dont ask...) and he told me my exhaust smells like windex... amonia... but couldnt offer a reason why
anyone notice this on their's.... is there something wrong with my car... you can see my mods in the sig if maybe that has something to do with it
........ slightly concerned.....:confused:
 
i seen an fx today probably an 06 with a dealerplate and he flew right passed me, and the smell of the exhaust was strange , i think they all have that smell? is it just at idle ?
 
I'm going to ASSUME your last addition to the FX was the GTSPEC rear braces? What if something on it, like a clear coat over the powder coat... or the sticker with the GTSPEC logo is melting from the hawt exhaust?

Other than that, yeah maybe it's a Nissan thang.

ive prolly done 5k miles easy since i put on those braces... so i wouldnt think its still melting...... i dont know if its just at idle or not as its really hard to sniff my pipes... but im glad to see that other people at least know of this... if i use cheap gas... arco etc.... do you think that could be cause it.... hmmm looks like i got some reading to do
 
ive smelled it while getting something out of the trunk while the car is running.... person in the trunk could smell it inside the trunk while at idle with the trunk lid cracked about 5inches... they are the one that pinpointed what it smelled like... even through all the duct tape, pillowcase and rope... i mean.. um.. wait.. what...
 
If it smells kinda like rotten eggs or sulphur it could be ypur catlytic converers are bad.I only have 64,000mi and I'm taking it to dealer this weekend to have replaced.They are covered to 80,000mi under factory warranty.
 
ill have to have cheryl check it out... im approaching 80k and i still need to get all my door molding replaced... but its tuff to get over there working 6-7 5 days a week
 
Usually the first cold morning start has that really strong fuel smell. I believe it's normal, but it's really unhealthy to inhale. i usually keep all my doors and windows closed, and air vent on recirculate with the car idling.
