Evo X = 108 whp from just bolt-ons!!

The only more tubing I can have is to get rid of the factory exhaust manifold and heat shields and replace with a tubular. It looks pretty cool, but not for me. I want my factory heat shields so that my strut bar doesn't get discolored, so that plugs for my cam position sensors don't melt... so that I don't lose lower RPM spool... lastly, so that I don't have to spend $600-800 on a manifold

Look'n good!

I used to have a 95 awd turbo eclipse. That thing was a blast! It was a very similar story to the EVO... add intake, exhaust, turn up boost, and have 75+ more whp.

Finally decided my end goals/path...

For power, I'm going to E85 and sticking with stock cams. Shooting for ~380 awhp and ~450 awtq on a Dynojet.

Bone stock an Evo X puts down around 238 awhp and about 245 awtq on that dyno, so only looking for about an extra 140 whp and 200 wtq on the stock turbo :tonguey:

Mod list:
AMS TBE ("Widemouth" O2/DP, HFC, single exit 3" catback)
AMS FMIC (Swain Tech BBE coated)
AMS LICP
AMS Full cold air intake
Nisei UICP
Ported and ceramic coated stock exhaust manifold (Swain Tech White Lightning coating)
Ported and polished and ceramic coated stock turbo (White Lightning again)
Grimmspeed 3-port boost solenoid
Fuel Injector Clinic 1100cc high-impedance injectors
Prototype AMS surge tank with single (external) Walbro 255

and last, but certainly not least...

CORN JUICE!

Change your plate to CRN F3D. My friend did that.

E85 most certainly IS available here. Illinois has the second most E85 stations of all 50 states (Minnesota has the most).

There isn't one just down the road, but there is one near my school, so that'll be convenient enough for me.

As for the plates... I already have a plate in mind, but my regular schmegular plates don't expire until early August, so I'm going to wait until around that time.

hehe taking advantage of your connections with AMS ey? :-p jkjk

cant wait to see the end result of your build!!

Lmao... I brought my car in so they could test fit one of their new products and when they popped the hood and saw Nisei piping they gave me shit... but at the time the Nisei equivalent piping cost half as much as I would've been charged for AMS stuff. After that I actually started getting good deals so it was a no-brainer at the prices I was being charged

I can't tell you how many times I've brought my car there after a fresh wash only for it to be a rainy day when they want the car there... that was frustrating.

Anywho, I need to stop spending money on this damn car...

Thanks to the insight from John, I'm working on a custom emblem for the front grill... it took about an hour or two for design, then another hour or so for cutting with the dremel:

Then about 4 hours of filing with small files as John instructed:

I still have another couple hours of filing to get it exactly how I want it... tougher than it looks unfortunately...

WHEW, hopefully this madness is over...

There's slight imperfections, but this thing measures just over 1.25" tall by 4" wide, so what you see here isn't exactly as obvious as it will be, especially not where it is going on the car.

Oh and big thanks to Tim (tchuck) for getting my angles all situated. Up until he helped, my shaping was mostly by eye and how I thought it looked :tonguey:

He's doing a final review and will critique my sloppiness with his grids.

Little update, dark pictures...

Dropped on Swift springs, tinted up...

Wingless trunk finally done...

And the little badge I spent hours filing ended up looking pretty cheesy, not sure how long it'll stay there...
