Engine reving up to 8000 rpm while driving 20 mph

This also happened to me twice and both times the VDC and the some other lights came on as well. I turned it off right away thinking the it will take off on me. Scary...

Did you not take your foot off the accelerator when this happened?

^^^^ Yea didnt you notice the rpm's were climbing to high? ^^^^

Oh so you were in the neutral position?? what other lighs came on?

Yes I did take my foot off the accelerator, i was not in neutral. after I noticed the gears weren't shifting and it was red line-ing. That's when i threw it into neutral , turned the engine off, put it into park.

so today after i got home and i put the FX in park the engine started revving on its own. I don't know whats the problem with it now but this just started today.
