Hi all,

I have got a FX35 2012 Tech recently.
I have recently got my engine oil done by a mechanic. (about two weeks ago). Right after that I went into Info->Maintenance->Engine Oil and Reset Distance.

Yesterday all of a sudden I have the Engline OIL maintenance indicator on (on my speedometer dashboard, the little screen not the touch screen)

I was reading the manual and it shows that I need to use the buttons behind the steering wheel to go in and reset the distance. I havent done that yet but wanted to ask the following:

If I use the touch screen to go reset the distance as I mentioned above, do I still have to reset from the trip computer?

You only reset it on the touch screen as far as im concerned. Thats how i do it.
 
I'm not aware of any reset from the trip computer. The engine oil usually indicates something wrong with the engine oil and/or component. I would recommend checking this right away before driving your FX anywhere.
Common issues including oil level is too high or too low. If low, check for leaks. If you really need to drive to a mechanic shop, fill the oil up to recommended levels first.

Also, I've changed the oil in my FX many times. The touch screen reset is only for reminder. It doesn't output any error engine codes.
 
Hmm,,

I just reset the distance from trip computer. The limit was set at 500 KM !!!! at the same time the touchscreen has the distance set at 6000!

That is kinda stupid that there are two user reminders, one on touch screen and second on trip computer !

am I missing something?
 
Hi, no you are not missing anything looks like it has 2 options either you set the small screen or the touch screen and both are reminders.
