Engine downshift during braking

2010 FX35. I have noticed this on a downhill road that I usually drive. I usually just step on brake partially going down, and I noticed sometimes the engine would downshift suddenly. It felt like the car was going to accelerate suddenly.

Anyone has that?

Mine down shifts even when coasting up to a stop sign. I dont know if this is specific to a 50S or not?

this thread is timely because in June my brother in law got his brand new Malbec black M37 sport the same day I got a Malbec black 2012 35. Lately he has been beside himself because he thought something was wrong with his M because it didn't seem to coast right. I told him i never really noticed anything wih my car and that it was probably just the transmission downshifting, and that the 7 speed trans in the Infinit's are different and take some getting use to. Anyway he asked me to check it out and after driving his car I told him I didn't notice anything wrong. He then drove my FX and he was relieved and happpy because he said the FX coasts just like his M. By the way the M37 S is a beast

sounds like sport mode to me.... downshifts with braking on mine (when I have it in DS and am not using the paddles, as usual)

Mine does it even in "D" more on flat surfaces. It most apparent when I do sudden stops on the highway. It stays in gear after the sudden brake.

Mine downshifts similar to what the others are experiencing, it's a great feature. I actually like it.

Downshift happens randomly sometimes from 60 to a stop sign it'll down shift waaay too late like when I'm already almost stopped :/
