Engine Air Filter Change

Just swapped out my engine air filters for my 15k maintenance on my 2010 fx35. Might be the easiest thing I've ever done on a car. Took one minute to do it and another 2 minuets of standing there in disbelief on how easy it was. Can't believe what dealers want to charge for it and also tack on a premium for two filters!

Yes, it is so much easier on the 2nd Gen FX. A child can do it.

........and slowly and slowly you will be doing a lot more than just a filter change. that's the beauty of DIY's.

Swapped out my factory ones for K&N filters. Good for next million miles... or until a manufacturer decides to make a CAI for the FX. Oh btw, dont forget to swap out your in-cabin filter...

I haven't done my in-cabin filter yet. Where is it ? and is the oem one the only one to replace it with ?

Go to Infinitihelp.com under knowledgebase -> Heater & Air Condition. There's a tutorial on how to swap it out. I haven't changed mine yet but it looks like you'll have to pick one up from the dealer. Looks easy enough..

I'm new to IS and need 10 posts to leave links/images..

I changed mine myself. I upgraded mine to the grape polyphenol filter off the FX50. I'll make a diy tomorrow for you guys.

Fire0nic3 did you notice any difference with the grape polyphenol? I just swapped mine too with an OEM ... but might as well upgrade next time if you are having good results.

Yes I did. I bought mine for like $35 from Tony over at Circle Infiniti. Normally the dealer charges like $60+ for the FX50 grape polyphenol filter. It helps block out smog and things like that. It's also designed for bad allergy sufferers like me to block out ragweed, pollen, etc etc.

U need to look under the dyi section on this forum. there is a much better tutorial on how to change the in-cabin filter. i have done it, and the guy who did this write up with pics on this forum did a great job.

Here's the link to a DIY I made on how to do it:

I bought them from Nissan in Seattle, they gave me one engine air filter first. I retuned them and exchanged with two but they were shocked that 09+ FX35 takes two filters.
