I'm putting this here for her. I had to clean up a few threads with the same exact post so I hope she reads her PM and finds this thread.

Not tryna take over the thread, sorry.. But no idea how to post. Can any of you help a girl out in some decision making? I'm scheduled to basically go and drive away with a 2004 FX45 on Friday with 80,000 miles for $14,995 but I'm a research freak so here I am. I test drove it and listened for any strange sounds.. Anything wrong.. Nothing. Only that at a stop it seemed a bit shaky, nothing dramatic but didn't know if that was normal.. The interior and exterior look almost brand new.. Has new tires and brakes. Only thing is that car fax said it's been in one accident. Is this a good deal? Any advice? It's a 10 year old car with kind of high mileage so I'm just trying to be cautious.. Thanks!

Seems to me its a great buy. If you're uncertain about the shake, take it to trusty mechanic for final check.

8k a year over 10 years isn't terrible (unless the majority were recent, which may be the case)
if it was in an accident maybe bring it to a shop that can check for where it ws repainted, put it on a lift to check for frame damage, etc.

the shaking while stopped may just be due to dirty filter, needs an oil change, engine mount is messed up, etc. Have a mechanic give it a look over and you should be fine.
Worst case scenario is the accident bent something so now the motor resonates the car at idle.... but just get it checked out!
