Electronic Power Liftgate Finally!

Ok so what is the CVT trans and is it on the FX? If I get a FX now is this an option or a standard feature?

CVT is a transmission variant that utilizes two conical "gears" with a chain between them that allows a constantly variable gear ratio rather than the conventional multi-speed automatic gearbox. I can't remember the acronym off hand but it's something like "constantly variable transmission". The effect is that rpms are more closely tied to throttle position than vehicle speed and acceleration is completely smooth throughout the speed range, because it never "shifts". In general they yeild higher fuel economy, increased maintenence, and lower reliability. Like lil' G said, it's not an option on the FX so you don't need to worry about it. If you want to experience one in it's full glory, test drive a Murano...then forget about it and buy an FX. :tup:

I should clarify that the cvt iteration I described with the two conical gears is only one iteration (the Audi design). I think Nissan's version is mechanically different, but functions in the same way.

picked up my 2011 on Tuesday, it came with the Power Liftgate,
a really nice feature, downside is the accidental press of the key fob.
my garage height is just an inch higher after the gate open,

best thing is i think you can actually adjust the height for the gate to open up to so it won't hit the rolling door for the garage. nice touch.

I would have hopped so. Audi Q7s have had the adjustable power lift gate for years now.
 
No, i'm going to purchase it and install by myself in next month:) 800$ at dealer it costs, i think i can by it for 500$
 
i haven't tried, but,
when the power liftgate is active, am i still be able to stop it manually before it it's something. or just shut it close manually?
basically, if i am able to close manually even when the power liftgate is active?

Looks like just a shock unit with a motor built-in. i have seen this on many other vehicles and I also have been wondering about retro-fit! Anyone contact dealership about having it installed or doing it yourself???

Looks like it is not too difficult. Matter of replacing that right shock with the motorized unit then tapping into power, switch and maybe the ECU at some point.
 
There is one big problem. it can't be installed on our rides because length of it is 57cm and length of our actuators are 50 cm + to install it we need to cut plastic on the rear door. on second picture you can see red line,to which must be cut plastic on our rides
 
I bought my FX 2011 end of January and it did not come with the liftgate :frown:. Does anyone know when did the 2011 FX come with the liftgate? The rear door is pretty heavy and annoying to open/close w.o the liftgate. I called the dealer and they said that I can't have it installed b/c it's factory only.
 
I got mine on March 6 and it came with the powered liftgate. Hope it helps.
