Dvd (gps) Sceen

Im really confuse since i just got the car last week. It says CD-DVD on the dash. Does that mean that the fx plays dvd movies and music videos? I looked under the passenger seat for a box that suppose to have the gps maps but found nothing there. What am i missing here?? thanks in advance

Gen1 FX in dash unit plays CD discs/MP3 CD discs (not compatible with DVD movies or VCD videos).
The NAV DVD drive is located beneath the passenger seat (accessible from the rear passenger leg room area).

Is your FX equipped with a TECH pkg? If so, your in-dash radio unit should have a "MAPS" button.

I was just gonna ask the same.. then if i dont have this DVD under passenger seat but i bought one .. is the screen will be able to play movies ?
 
I have a 05 45 so it came with the dvd unit under the passenger seat.... Thinking wow it plays dvd's also.... But sadly it only plays the nav dvd and it couldnt read the reg dvd
 
The DVD button is in all the first gen FX's i think. It is to allow switching audio feeds when there is the rear DVD package present. The DVD player would be installed at the bottom of the center console.

That is correct. If you have the Tech package, then you will have a second DVD player behind the center console (so the people in the back seat only) could access it. There is an additional flip down LDC screen mounted in the ceiling behind the sunroof. Pressing the DVD button on the front dash would switch the audio to the stereo. It will not play the movie on the front (driver viewable) screen.
