DTRL-Turn Signal Swap

So I got the Cree LED bulbs today. Very bright and definetly match the stock HIDs better. The only thing I dont like is the way the bulb is (see pics on previous page). It only has light output in the front and not sides. It does not "reflect" in the reflector behind the bulb, making it look like one bright dot.

Sir, so your Cree bulbs looks like just a little dot when its on or during the night? Was it like this from the first day you turned it on? It's strange, I noticed this on la_fx's Crees just the other night. We were looking at his compared to mine and they were just a dot from a distance too. Very odd. But looking at his pics on page two, they looked normal. They're not really supposed to reflect in the housing because the bulb is a projector type head. My Crees are perfect so far, they reflect around the housing a little bit only. It's the perfect look and color and are really defined when lit up, not a dot. Mine look great from any angle/direction too. I also wrapped the white base with chrome tape too so maybe that changed the lighting effect. The reason I wrapped it with chrome tape is because when it sits in the housing and you look at it dead on, you see the white reflecting in there, like the OEM amber bulbs color reflecting in there. I should post some pics at night to see if there are any differences between ours.

Well it's got a bit better (or maybe it's my eyes). At night it has a cool look but during the day (when I wrote the previous post it was daytime) it looks like a dot.

Mine Cree LED bulbs have become just a little dot as Aerobfa stated. It is getting to a point that is turn on and off, not flickering. My guess is I just got a bad pair. I bought them on 02/15/11. Since they offer 120 days guarantee, I have emailed them for a replacement this monring. Will see how the replace hold up.

Hey mine started to do that on-off thing too. Did you get them replaced? I'm about to email them too. My guess those are mean as backup lights and can't stay on too long. If so I'm switching back to multi-LEDs like I had

I did email them and got a reply back. I slip in my verbiage in telling them that I took it out of the "head light housing" and test them. They wrote back stating that it voids the warranty if is use else where other then as backup light. They encourage me to send it back for them to test and to determine how long they been on. Can they tell how long the LED been on? I guess that they can tell due to a circuit board behind it? So I'm debating if should go through the trouble of sending them back. I guess they're design to be on for short duration and not for hours in the headlights. I think I'll just let them go and find some other LED.

I see. Well I'm just going to try and get my refund back, because I'm not satisfied with them

Returned those Cree bulbs. So the question now is which bulbs would be good for that application? Some super white LEDs perhaps?

Yup. When they're on too long they get VERY hot. Anyway if someone finds a good match to the stock hids post up

I installed autolumination 7443's about 2 weeks back the 9 led ones, and one of them has already gone out... I guess they do get too hot....

is there another bulb that is not an LED that will look good in there?
