DTRL Help

Unfortunately can't post a pic yet on here yet.

I opened the fuse/relay compartment and saw the blue relay that was in a DTRL post in another forum and then I found a smaller box to the left of the one I opened, opened that and there is a relay that specifically says DTRL on it, and the relay is missing :eek.: ...? My wife had bought the car before we were together and the 05 FX35 is completely loaded. By chance, would I just be able to put a relay in there and be golden? I know the lights I have for the dtrls now isn't the dual filament but I can work on that later. Any help would be great!

If anyone would like a pic just let me know and I can email it. Thanks.

By the way, the lights do work as normal but I would like them to be on when the key is turned

That relay is only used in the Canadian application where whenever the ignition is turned on the DTRL's are on. Ours are only on when the lights are turned on.

This mod is so you can have the DTRL's on all the time instead of just when your headlights are on.

One thing needs to be said for this setup:

This enables the DTRL-Light only! not the function what is meant by DTRL.
with this setup the light is always on as soon as you turn your key. and it will always remain on as the relay is switched by the accessory port - not DTRL-Function.

The original Function says that the DTRL goes off as soon as one of the other lights is switched on or when the park brake is on. In this case the light will ALWAYS burn.
One Site effect that was not mentioned here: by closing the circuit of the accessory relay, you also ALWAYS have power on 2 of the power outlets.

So this setup works to have the lights always on - but is not a real DTRL mod is might

That's the how to I saw before. In pic 2, the guy says the DTRL relay is in blue when that is the ACC relay I believe. The DTRL relay is on the left side. Just had me confused.
