drop springs cut???

would you recommend cutting a drop springs??? anybody did this before? what kind of springs & how much lower did it go??? i jus want to slightly tuck my 20" oem tires. is it possible?
 
1/2 coil cut equals 1/2" drop. Cut the front coils and purchase two new lower rear mounts and replace the top two rubber mounts with them, that will get you the 1/2" in the back. It is best to keep the drop even, cutting more than 1/2" will affect your ride quality....the above mod has been performed by a number of members with good results.
 
not recommended, but people have cut atleat 1/2 coil to drop it more. It does, however mess with the spring rate of the springs and therefore might alter the ride negatively....even more so than making it harsh. (could become bouncy)
If you want to tuck, buy a set of coilovers..

If you would rather sacrifice most of your ride quality for an 1/2 more drop by all means go ahead. But from a person that has done this & regretted the end result, I wouldn't recommend it. Eventually I ended up buying another set of H&Rs to replace the cut ones. Wasted time & $$$.
 
I think your FX would look sweat tucking tire, but since someone offered this point to me about 6 months ago, I will offer it to you.

If you are going to lower your FX more than just getting coils (I have H&R) you will need a camber kit to get it aligned.

That said, if you have some mechanical ability or friends that do, try raising the mount on your struts. You can go ALOT lower without any of the negative consequences.
