Nice. I'd totally do it if I was nearby...

Here's the beneficiary info from the link, fyi:

The NASCAR Foundation & Loma Linda University Children's Hospital

Dude, I will totally do that! (Likely all day long in different cars) And the FX just recently got a bath too.
John, if you're going shall we plan being there at the same time so we can take each other's on-track pictures?

Wow, what a cool event! Everything so well organized and so friendly! I highly recommend this for everyone. And, a great help to Loma Linda Children's Hospital.
For a variety of reasons, I chose to let the FX sit this one out. I took my Porsche instead. Here are a few preview cell phone pics. I'll have to get more up later.

Officially posted as "highway speeds" or pretty much a parade lap. Following a pace car probably reaching slightly over 80 on a blip, so the speed factor wasn't too exciting. I drove with one hand while holding video, so it was 3rd gear the whole time.
It was certainly fun enough. I'll walk that track and enjoy every step!

Damm I wish I could have went definately gonna get the day off next year.
Was the banking allot more than you thought?

I expected the bank and I've been on the track before, but it still gave me a giddy feeling on the 1st turn one. After that, it was definitely noticeable but not foreign. I should have put down the camera and concentrated on the dynamics of the track. I did notice that at those "slow speeds" following a line on track does not matter at all. It's pretty much the same feeling on the apron or at the wall. I'm guessing that the bank and a specific line matter very little under at least 125 or so.
They have a 4th of July classic car show called Red, White, and Cruise. It's an all day event in the infield and garage/pit area and show cars are allowed to do parade laps on the track. Of course, there's a fireworks show at night. I tried like dickens to enter last year, but being on the 4th of July, there is just too much going on. I'll probably have to try again this year. They also do a bike show and poker ride if you want to run a classic bike.
