Drift/Track Wheels

ok, well i have been looking into getting some cheap wheels (17"s/18"s) so that i have an extra set of wheels for drifting or track stuff, or just anything where i dont want to waste my good wheels or tires. i am looking on the local Z/G forums and there are always some good deals. my only question is what should i look for in 17 inch wheel that will fit? i know the oem 18s are 40 offset from what i have seen. i found some 17" Z wheels with no tires for $175 pick up near me, just not sure that will fit. if anyone has any experience or could help i would greatly appreciate it.

If you want 17's its ok but then you will have to compensate on the tires (larger sidewall) to make up for the oem wheel/tire overall diameter. I think that the huge sidewall on tires that size would look pretty ugly. I suggest not going any lower then 18's but I would get 19 for the best look and weight combo. Have never seen a FX on 17's.

i'm thinking i will get some 18" Z rims, 18x8 +30 front, 18x8.5 +33 rear if i am correct. comes with 245/45/18 tires all for $200. its a local guy whos trying to help me get into the drifting anyway, so id love to buy from him. just want to make sure these should fit. im scheduled to test fit on friday. and yes i do realize they arent exact oem spec, but i wont be too worried about what speed im going whenever these are on, so as long as nothing else would be affected, these sound good to me. any thoughts?

You still have the ABS to consider. But since you are RWD you won't have to worry about the AWD system.
