Dog barrier for FX?

Lol. Wife. Knows that. I just wanted a dog. She wanted an old English. It is 8 months old and I love it. Trained very well. But had 4 eye serge rise so far. Cherry eye in both eyes. And she had eye lashes growing under her eyelids. 2 laser surgeries to take car of them. Only thing I know is she is an iroc bulldog.

Sorry to hear the pup has gone through so much already. Was the condition present as a pup and did your breeder make you aware of any family history? In any case, Im glad you stuck with him and not just drop him off at the pound at the first sign of problems.

Cherry eye was known that it could happen. The hair growing under the eye lids is not uncommon in bulldogs but was new to me. Over all my vet is excellent and took care of all of it for a reasonable price and the dog loves the vet so it was not much of a hassle. Health insurance is paying for most of the bills though. Even if I did not have insurance I would still get it taken care of. I got 2 cats and a dog. They are my kids and get the best. I only cheep out when it comes to the wife. Lol

i need to purchase a dog barrier for my FX the only thing i hate is that my dog sheds like crazy thats why i prefer to not have it in the FX.

ooks nice, but I'd imagine you'd get lots of scratches on the armrests by the doors and such especially since they would want to go by the window?

Both of my english bulldogs are from cherokee champion bloodlines. Here is a picture of Floyd's father Floyd Sr:
http://exactclassicbulldogs.com/CherokeLegendFloyd.html, but I never show them...they are so spoiled it's ridiculous. Floyd did have one cherry eye. Trader actually just recently had surgery on both of his eyes, same thing, but both are doing terrific and are awesome!

Nice lineage Jonas. My boy's sire is Mult. Ch Ravenswoods Azure Sky aka Blue; top champion producer and top ten dobe of all time. Seeing this dog in person is impressive and has a great temperament.

porkandbeans,
Did you consider the weather tech ones? This way you can get extensions too....have you considered putting the 2 rear seats down and putting the bars up closer so that your dog can put their head out the windows with the cage?

I'm in the market to getting something where I can let them lose, but protect everything well.

I don't remember if I checked the weather techs out or not. I do remember that the most difficult thing was finding the right barrier with a short enough minimum height to fit our short hatches. I ruled out the cage style, believing the tubular bars look much classier.
I have briefly considered putting the rear seats flat and moving the barrier forward, but have never tried and suspect I never may. I'm not yet willing to give up my back seat and cargo hatch. My main concerns would be claw marks or other wear on the rear door panels and a bit too much dog hair too close to the cockpit. I expect some dog hair in the trunk, but I appreciate and value clean front seats. For these reasons I wouldn't use the hammock in the back seat. I do like the hammock and would definitely use one in a sedan. For the FX, me and the doggies will be taking full advantage of the hatch.
Aside from looks, style, and sturdiness, look for good adjustability from side to side. I like a nice and tight fit. Front to back, mine has several inches of movement to play with. For max rear cargo room, the barrier is secured up against the back of the rear seats with their recline positioned fully forward. (I give my dogs more room for long trips. On the down side, the rear seats can't be reclined back and the barrier tightens up against the soft headliner.) I keep the barrier normally positioned further back for occasional short jaunts with the pups. Further back in this position it tightens up in the area on the mid-rear shoulder strap hump and fits well behind the rears fully reclined back and in front of the cargo cover bar. Generally, I keep the the barrier in place 95% of the time even though dogs are rarely along. Rear view visibility is not limited at all. I'm really happy with the purchase.

If anyone out there is still looking for a proper dog barrier that will fit the FX35, I finally managed to find the one porkandbeans purchased. It's called "Precision Pet Vehicle Barrier" and fits perfectly behind the seats. I'm in Canada, so I purchased mine from PetOnly.ca.

I'm deciding to put s dog crate in the back was wondering if anybody has their own dog barrier/transport system?
