Dog barrier for FX?

Can anyone recommend a good dog barrier that will work with the cargo area of the FX? I searched for an Infiniti barrier but it doesn't appear that they offer an OEM product as an accessory for the FX. Any suggestions from the dog lovers on here?

Thx!

Yeah I was wondering if there was a specific Infiniti barrier for the FX. Doesn't look like it. I guess a generic pet gate will suffice.

3-year bump. Unfortunately I see no reviews or responses from anyone that bought a particular product. It is easy to find a wide array of choices for a rear pet barrier but undoubtedly some will work better than others.

Can anyone make any specific recommendations either for or against a product at this time?

I took measurements and searched high and low before buying mine. Most of them out there cannot be adjusted short enough to fit in the small-ish hatch. I wanted the nicest one possible and knew I didn't want to waste my time with a cheaper quality barrier. Also preferred the bar type over the cage type. I finally found one that would adjust correctly at Big Lots. To my surprise, it has worked perfectly and I'm very happy with it. It's good quality, adjusts well for a great fit, and fits in front of my tonnue cover when I'm not toting my 2 dogs. Big Lots puts their own name on it and removes the manufacturer name, so it may be harder to find. I got it 2 years ago for $30 or $40.

^^^^ Had this type of barrier in my Fx for a while. Was a tight fit for my dobe, but he doesn't move much. I removed it when I nearly got rear ended by a large truck.. Any rear collision with a truck/semi would be deadly.. He now rides in the back seat.

I wish I could do this. My dogs shed too much. Open up the windows for 1 minute and I bet there would be hair in eery place in the car!

I thought you had 2 bulldogs for some reason.
Am I confusing you with someone else?
I'm picky, so hair is bad enough with shorthair not shedding. I feel for you!

@porkandbeans: Thanks! I've got a Big Lots near me and will look for that one. At the very least that gives me a great picture to try to find that one. Really appreciate it, sir.

I have 2 english bulldogs.....they don't shed like crazy, but hair will get everywhere....especially in the fall and spring when they are losing their winter coat and losing their summer coat.

I have an old English and use a back seat cover from petsmart. It complete,ly wraps from the back of the front seat to the back of the rear seat. Seatbelt holes and all. Mu puppy loves rides in the FX but gets even more excited in the G. I take her to the garage and she cries at the gbecause she likes it better.

Can you show me a picture? I think my dogs would scratch it their paws out of the way unless it was somehow tightly secured. They like to cuddle in places so they would probably try to move it around a lot.

Do you have hair all over or any scratches from them?

Hey Shumby,

Is this it from Petsmart?

porkandbeans,

Did you consider the weather tech ones? This way you can get extensions too....have you considered putting the 2 rear seats down and putting the bars up closer so that your dog can put their head out the windows with the cage?

I'm in the market to getting something where I can let them lose, but protect everything well.

have you guys tried a harness + seat belt latch?

Mine actually snaps into the actual seat belt. Makes me feel safer when I have to travel with my dogs.

Mine is set up like that, except I don't use a seatbelt latch. I found that it tangles with their legs and can cause injury if you had to stop quickly. I use a harness and attach it to the cargo/child seat latch on the back of the rear seats with a 3 foot leash that has a clip at both ends. Less likelihood of tangling since the leash attaches to the harness dorsaly and goes over the rear seat.

I have one that buckles to the seat belt. Dog loves it. Use it in the G and the Fx. Dog likes driving in the G better though. Sorry guys. I paid $2000 for the dog a few bucks to protect it while driving seems a no brainer.

Tell me about it, worth every penny. What's the pedigree/registered/kennel name?
