DIY - Rear reflector tints

Unless you go completely black on the reflectors they will still be functional. Even if you did go completely black, I don't think it would be illegal seeing that many cars do not come with reflectors in the first place.

Anybody try to get away with tinting in PA? They pull you over for anything that resembles "cool" here! No exterior neon glow, they measure bumper height, and no window glass tint on front doors nor windshield.

hmm im in PA on weekdays and have been able to get away with tinted rear tails + reflectors, as well as a 6k hid/fog setup. I see cops eyeing me as i pass them but none have pulled me over for those reasons yet. Maybe its cause i have NY plates? not too sure...

Here is mine 3M Carbon DI-NOC Film.

No, it's not reflective. And I never tried putting any light source behind it, but the film is pretty thick so I doubt you'll get any LED to light up behind that film.

Oh ok... It would be pretty cool to make it look like the carbon vinyl was glowing

I used transparent smoked vinyl in this DIY, although they are very similar to window tint. Mine is holding up well, no peeling or lifting.

I got mines from blue bluebatmobile. I went with all 6/10 which is the darkest he had. The 3rd brake light I did one layer and for the rear reflectors I did double layer, which is using two 6/10 tints. The first picture is with flash and the second picture is without flash. The reflectors still work at night and during the day it looks tinted.
