DIY installing Invidia exhaust

Until recently I was catabatic exhaust, but with peredlannoy in foreign-tuning the last jar. The sound was good but a bit loud and dingy. And wanted to have a rich bass, a beautiful exhaust. To listen to the buzz was, at any speed and any speed.

So I ordered this exhaust. Have long sought ways to deliver to Moscow cheaper way, but nothing is cheaper $ 800 not found. And so I chose the delivery from the seller.
Exhaust I sent on November 5. November 9 he was already in Moscow, but it only took me a week and a half. Since I have not said what needed to clear them through customs myself (originally stated that the transportation company of its own customs clearance)

When customs clearance needed to fill 2 bills and bring them to sign that would release the goods from the warehouse and then go and pay to the union and go back, that would pick up cargo. But I am a man impatient and chose a quick but expensive way. I execute the contract with a broker that would have the advantage could pay on the spot, resulting in overpaid 2500 rub. (Superiority was almost 4 pounds and had to pay almost 700 rub).

Taking the exhaust is a problem where to shove it, because the date has already dismantled and started shumit, and I was on my Sisters ride: BMW 650i. but nothing, exhaust fit on the back seat and I'm pretty fly for service given to the exhaust to install it.

A few days later and here on Sunday evening last week began installing exhaust. 16:00 I was waiting for a call that all is, all that should be clipped and can come for Feeney. But it was not there: (I got a call at 23:30 and was told that the exhaust does not sit down at the heels of catalysts and the need to bore flange. But the flange can not be wasted on the spot, as the metal is too thick and did not want to spoil the look of the exhaust and God forbid spoil mount. so the next day found the office, which is on the milling machine wasted our flange. But we have given to the boring details at 5 pm and returned to us the next day at 15:00. (3000 ruble is worth: of 1 000 for pipe and 1,000 for installation)

But it is not so simple. If you just shorten, and back the boil, then attached to the bank will not work. There are two ways:
Method number 1: how much to trim and then cut off the end of the shorter pipe mount and deploy such a way that would be coming to the bank:

Method number 2 as we did:
Shortened the pipe as it should, but do not cut the fasteners with a jar, and cut a piece, cut it and then drove a corner under the mount with X-pipe. In the pictures is what I have said more clearly:

Just had to slightly bend the mounting shortened tubes as rubber bands, where they were kept vnatyag and could eventually break, so avoid it done like this:

Nobody sees that fixing a little bent, that exhaust is shifted slightly to the left, and if someone sees and says that he does not like, that is his problem, as I was happy with everything and I like it. Most importantly, it does not affect those characteristics.

It now remains to go to the bench and measure the machine must catabatic poltos measure:)

i see Alexanders car haha, the Borla would sound good in the cold :D
 
The sound reminds me of my 98 Mustang Cobra. I just uploaded a video of how it sounds. Although I like my sound better after the mod for more backflow to create the crackling sound when the rpms go down. :wink: Amazing though how borla sounds similar between a Mustang Cobra and Infiniti FX. :tup:

Sounds good... but I have a question... did you check your tire pressure yet?

It was at perfect PSI. They are aftermarket 18'' very low profile wide tires. Probably the angle of the video doesn't help either. :)
 
Just revisiting this thread. The Invidia sounds awesome, much better than the Borla imo. Much more of a "V8" sound. Rich and deep.

Decisions decisions.

I should also add the burning question....

What's the Dyno before and after adding these exhausts?!? :)
