Distance to empty

I think the DTE figure is a product of the remaining fuel in the tank and your incidental fuel economy. Ergo, if the first half of your tank is spent at 55mph on the highway then your DTE figure would be higher than if your first half tank was spent on the drag strip.

Yeah but this is not the case, because I've proved it way off when the mpg is consistently the same (for driving 200+ miles one trip)...going same speed cruise control all the time on flat land with no hills or anything and the DTE going all over the place. Explain that?

Voodoo.

I have a funy story.

One day, I took a car from a dealer and gasoline in the tank was only for 10 km. Unfortunately I had to go from the repair zone to itself dealership (5 km on the eerie tube)and then to the nearest gas station10 km, as in traffic jams. Once i arrive to the dealer, I was fully convinced that I'd have to get to gas stations, board computer showed the remaining fuel for another 7km.
And so i left the dealer and drove straight to the very nearest gas station.
I stayed in traffic for about an hour. I lacked only 100 meters to the filling. The machine stalled. However, i was able to coast down to get to the column and fill the car
From this story i learned two things:

1) You must always be tucked in

2)
In the tank intermeddle 94 - 95 liters

I didn't follow very well?? What are the last two points?

I drove her for a good 10 miles after the fuel gauge lit up. I filled her up this morning and hit the 18 gal mark. I kept pumping knowing that I did 20+ gals. before. After the 18.5 mark the freaking thing overflowed.
I just dont trust this feature. WTF...

I had the same, I was driving and it was showing 45 Miles to Empty pulled off the highway maybe no more than 2 miles and it was showing 0 miles to empty ! Learned to fill up when less than 1/4 tank is left , its better for the car anyway.
