Display unit not going off

Hey all, long time no posting for me here.
My FX50S has been serving me for several years without issues and am still very happy with the car.
But now some problem came up, the other day i noticed the car battery was dead.
It was that low i could not even open the doors anymore without using the key.
After i replaced the battery with a new "spare" battery i had at home everything worked as it should but wondered why this could have happened but had no time so far to investigate.
But in the evening i came home and parked the car, locked the door but before walking off i noticed the display unit background lighting was still on and still showing the basic info off the radio (frequenct etc) but the brightness of the screen is quite low and not showing full colours as normal.
The display does not go off at all really, unless i pull the fuse from the fuse block at the footwell area for the audio system.

On a side note, the previous owner had a additional navigation system (Alpine) installed which, by using a separate switch, can be shown on the display unit.
This basically switches the screen over to another input and can only show 1 screen at the time, either OEM screen for audio/AC OR the Apline nav screen.
This was installed as it is not possible to transfer a european map on the car as it came with a US map for the nav.

Anyone ever had this issue? I am guessing that there is a relay somewhere that provides the display with power.
Most likely this is stuck or broken or the Alpine nav system somehow keeps it alive.

Anyone has a suggestion for a check or a fix?

Pff, i got it sorted.
I removed the radio and display, the way the nav system was installed was bad, really bad with no decent connections and insulation around the wiring and extra components.
I had to cut up the input harness to remove the nav add-on and repaired, soldered the wires and new insulation shrink sockets around it.
Now it's working fine again and the screen goes off all the time!

Anyway, thanks for reading :)
